♥ New Argentine Tango Courses in Karlskrona (Autumn 2017) ♥

Argentine tango is one of the most beautiful, elegant, and sensual dances of modern times.
It expresses the many facets of life and is centered in a subtle communication between leader and follower. The dance opens for the opportunity to explore and develop aspects of oneself; to say yes to a dance is like stepping into a micro cosmos with ample possibility to explore masculine and feminine sides, strength, body awareness and communication between the dance partners.
It s the only dance, alongside with Flamenco, which is a UNESCO Word Heritage.

It is a timeless art that continues to evolve even today, that has its roots in the working class city dance halls of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Its most distinctive features are a very close and intimate embrace that establishes a deep connection between the two partners and the sensual movements and figures that made it so famous.

♫ THE COURSES ♫

1) ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS

The full absolute beginners course will start mid September and finish in March 2018.

It will be divided in two terms:

1st Term: "The first step" (12 lessons/ 4 lessons per month): every journey starts with one step. The 1st Term will cover the basics and fundamentals of traditional argentine tango "de pista". The course is designed for absolute beginners who have never danced before and for more experienced dancers who wish to review the basics.

2nd Term: "The fundamentals: musicality, expression, creativity" (8 lessons/ 4 lessons per month) : the second term will be focused on reviewing and extending the fundamentals of the 1st Term with a stronger focus on expression, musicality and improvisation.


2) PRE-INTERMEDIATE

The full pre-intermediate course will start mid September and finish in December 2018. It is meant to be a preparation for the full Intermediate course that will start from January.

Pre-intermediate: (12 lessons/ 4 lessons per month): The pre-intermediate course will cover more of the fundamentals of traditional argentine tango "de pista", such as giros and changes of direction, boleos, barridas, with a strong review of the basics seen in the previous course. The course is designed for beginners who have at least 6 months/1 year of tango who wish to extend the basics towards a more organic tango.

♫ THE TEACHER ♫

Julian Castro, the organizer and teacher of El Encuentro Tango, was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and has studied and devoted to tango during the past 10 years. He is a professionally trained teacher of the AITA, one of the most renowned italian tango organizations. His tango is a combination of traditional and elegant tango coupled with modern and solid technique. His teaching style is focused on allowing the students to develop their tango style through simple and useful principles.

He has studied and developed with world famous dancers and tango legends like Maximiliano Cristiani and Karina Colmeiro (tango salon world champion 2013), Gabriel Missé, Guille Barrionuevo and Mariela Sametband, Maria Eugenia Brandulo (tango salon world championship finalist 2016), Noelia Barsi, Sebastian Jimenez (tango salon world champion 2010), Lorena Gonzalez Cattaneo (world champion 2014), Daniel Urquilla, among others. As a musician, he has participated in several folk music projects and toured across Italy and Europe.
Recently, his work with the argentinian art has been portrayed by the newspaper Sydöstran and by the popular tv show Landet Runt:
