If you ask most dancers what makes a tango festival unforgettable, they will say it is the energy in the room, or the music the DJ plays, or the variety of incredible new partners to dance with. They get to know new people and discover new connections. There is plenty of opportunity for interaction, not only on the dance floor but off. Loca Tango Project aims to create that very world, where dancers get to know each other as people and people become beautiful surprises to each other as partners.

Born out of a desire to create a special memory for everyone, professional chef and tango dancer and DJ James Oh was inspired to fuse his passions for one extended weekend. He asked himself if it were possible to make every attendee feel included, create a sophisticated, yet warm and friendly atmosphere, with a culinary experience not common at any other tango festival so far, to bring popular DJs from all over the United States and Canada, to introduce world renowned dancers and teachers in their US debut, and afterwards, to donate all the proceeds to a charity devoted to helping end childhood hunger. Some people thought he was “loco,” but he decided to give it a shot.

TangOh Festival with Flavor offers 30 hours of dancing, six 90-minute workshop classes with two ½ hr guided practicas, many meals, including a sit down dinner, a plethora of healthy and delicious snacks, as well as many, many surprises to ensure every participant is introduced, integrated, and appreciated.
