Description

This Tangoclub is part of the Dutch Tangoclub chain famous for it's high quality live music. The Tangoclubs are the places where the atmosphere of the past is combined with performances in which professionals give their contemporary and very danceable interpretations of the Argentine Tango. No cover band but Argentine Tango pure sang, improvised and straight from the heart. Join us while we bridge the gap between old school tango and the best musicans of today.

During the program Let's get Tangled in Jazz these professionals pay tribute to the Argentine Tango and the characteristic palette of different emotions in this music. In this program they lard the Tango with a touch of Jazz. You will discover how close the musical currents are to each other and how nice it can be as a dancer to be carried away by these sounds.

Kay Sleking is a regular guest and a creative leader at our Tangoclubs. He knows how to make special musical combinations that can inspire listeners and dancers. He brings together professional musicians from the Argentine Tango, Jazz and World music to show that the Argentine Tango is not dead and is not trapped in the squeaky and crackling music of the 30s of the last century.

Bernard van Rossum is a saxophonist and studied at the conservatory in Amsterdam. He regularly tours with the Bernard van Rossum Quartet and is the leader of the Bernard van Rossum Big Band with which he won several prizes. Together with Kay he takes up the challenge to pamper listeners and dancers of the Tango with the most beautiful danceable music, giving the Sax a special atmosphere to the concert.

Sanne van Delft studied double bass at the conservatory of Amsterdam and was a member of the orchestra of Carel Kraayenhof for a long time. He has toured the US, Scotland, Switzerland, Spain, Bosnia, South Africa, Alaska, Portugal, Italy, Norway and Argentina. As a member of De Wëreldbänd he performed in theatre with Jeroen Zijlstra, Wende, Ellen ten Damme, Karel de Rooij and Martin van Waardenberg, among others.
