What happens after the splendour of Northern autumn colours has faded? Goodbye red-and-gold foliage, goodbye daylight...
Welcome November, the ugliest month of the year!
We're not afraid of you, not anymore, because we have the perfect antidote: the Helsinki Milonga Weekend!
As the autumn turns into winter, the Finnish tango community invites you to spend a warm weekend of lovely dancing with friends in Helsinki. Who cares what it's like outside? Come and share moments of joy with us - just when we need them the most!

The concept is simple but brilliant:
A series of milongas chained together with local but well-known DJs, no registration required.

Torstai / Thursday

We request all participants to bring something to eat for the evening milonga (sweet or savoury, does not have to cost more than 5€). We would love to see local dishes from your country! Please prepare the food so that it can be served directly when you arrive; the kitchen in Ático does not have a big selection of kitchen utensils.

Volunteering:
If you wish to help us organise the event and work for 6 hours in total, we will offer you the whole weekend for free! Join the Facebook group "HMW Volunteers" for more details.

Prices:
The milongas have a price of 8€ for visitors from other countries and members of Amigos del Tango, price for others: 10€. It includes food, coffee and snacks. You are welcome to bring your own bottle of refreshments.

As there is no registration required, we are not making any promises regarding leader/follower balance at the milongas.

If you are a group of followers travelling together, we encourage you to use your charm and allure to bring some leaders along with you; everyone will be grateful!

About the venue:

El Ático
Address: Kumpulantie 1, 8th floor (Itä-Pasila)

How to get there:
The best connection: take tram number 9 (towards Pasila) which stops in front of the building. The stop is called “Jämsänkatu”. Buses number 22, 59, 505 and 518 also stop across the street. El Ático is a few minutes' walk from Pasila railway station.

General information

El Ático is a dance studio run by the tango association Amigos del Tango. AdT organise regular weekly milongas on Thursdays and Sundays. There are regular classes as well as workshop weekends and concerts throughout the year. The dance studio is also for rent. The wooden floor is perfect for dancing!
